I served 8 years in the USN as a Hospital Corpsman, the majority of which I served with the USMC.
I served at Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes, 2nd Marine Division 3rd Battalion 8th Marines India Company, and Naval Hospital Pensacola.
I deployed twice to Afghanistan, once to the Upper Gereshk Valley and once to Marjah.
I bought both of my Jeeps after each deployment.

I was a 94B and a 71L back in the late 1960's. I served in the States, then deployed to Viet Nam but was rerouted to Okinawa for two years. Then back to the States. After college (I was ready then) I worked for the Army for 35 years and retired from White Sands Missile Range. Now I enjoy retirement and playing with toys I couldn't afford when younger. Reading the various posts on this link and the other two for the Army was very enjoyable. I haven't laughed so much in so long; Great reading. Nothing has changed, except now you can have beards (in some units) and wear "funny colored outfits, no starch".

I like the tactical side of MA work (VBSS, Deployment with Army Rangers, Mobile Security/Expeditionary Squadrons, etc.). It suited my mentality much better than the gray hull life. Not that gray hulls didn't have their cool side...
