Airforce Veteran here also, both bases that I was stationed are closed...RAF Alconbury, UK., and KI. Sawyer AFB, MI. Also did a six month stint at KFIA Saudi Arabia, during Desert Storm. I wish I would haven't gotten out, would be retired in 2 years. I'm sure everybody says that though. lol

Same here, I'd be retiring in 4, but I've made more money in the last 6 years as a contractor working with the government than I would have in the whole 20 years I would have stayed...it's a fair trade off. Atleast I still get to work in a military environment and keep my clearance current, not to mention still being a part of some really cool things, you just don't see in the private sector.

I know that is a Air Force joke.

There are lots of "places" there to wheel but it is all private property no matter how abandoned it looks. I would probably risk it if he was a civilian, but not being military.

The funny thing is when he joined got Eglin AFB in FL. A dream place to be stationed. They bought a house, he fished, and wheeled on the weekends in all that AF owned property near the base, nothing but trails. 3 months later he got orders to Ramstein Germany. He just got back in January.

I'll be getting back there pretty soon. You, Marn, and I gotta hook up to go to Logandale. Your rig should make it through most of it. You may want to take off the surf boards though...
