TPS indicator

Dies anyone what usually fails with the TPS I have checked all pressures but I still have the light on

The batteries in the tire pressure sensors wear out.

What year is your KK? By now even the 2012’s probably have worn out TPMS batteries.

Thanks so much for the reply, mine is a 2011 KK Sport. So the sensor batteries are these in the valve stems ?

Make sure your spare tire is not low. It has one also I do believe.

Looking closely at the subject, making sure we are all talking about the same thing...

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor, an engine air intake part. When there’s a TPS problem, there is a lightning bolt symbol that lights up on the dashboard.

TPMS = Tire Pressure Management System, which is what I think the O.P. Was asking about. When pressure is low or the system loses contact with a sensor for more than 30 minutes or so, the tire light comes on.

Yes its the tire pressure light which is coming on, I should have been more specific. I have deflated and inflated all tyres inc the spare as i read that sometimes that could solve the issue but it did not. I was wondering where the batteries would be, assuming I may need to replace the sensors in the wheels ? Thanks all.

The sensors live on the inside of your rim and the batteries are not easily replaceable. The batteries are embedded inside silicone inside the sensors to keep them from vibrating loose. There are a few YouTube videos showing how to change out these batteries and re-pour silicone around them and seal the sensors, but it looks like a mess and a ton of work with no guarantee of success. Unfortunately these sensors cost something like $100 each at the dealer, less if you go aftermarket. Any mechanic will have a device that can read the radio signals from the sensors so you can see which one is dead and needs replacing.
