Skid plates

I just got a set of skid plates. Is there any certain order to install them or does it matter. Thanks for any help.

There’s a few that overlap by using the same bolts. Install the rear ones first, under the front ones, so that if you slide over an obstacle they won’t snag on it. Other than that, just bolt them right up.

I got them off amazon. $272. I kept watching to find them. One or 2 I had to match the part number to be sure I was getting the right one.

I have 3 stock skid plates I removed from my 2011 70th Anniversary that I'm not going to re-install. If anybody is interested in them and that lives close to Nashville, Tn, I would let them go for $175.00.
I also have a set of Jeep chrome nerf bars in great shape off of my 2011 I'm looking to sell as well.

I'm not planning on going off road with my Jeep.

Thanks, Alan

I wish Iíd have known. I would have bought yours. I wasnít planning on needing them until the snow and the road was blocked in the middle of a curve.

I put the transfer case skid on and it came with the nutserts. The transmission and front skid didnít come with nutserts. Does anyone know what size and how many more I need to get?

I looked this up for you using the factory parts manual. You can see how many nutzerts are needed for each skid plate.

Thanks for that. They didnít send all the nutserts with the skids. Would you recommend getting the ones from dodge or are round aftermarket ones ok?

The Jeep/Dodge ones have a square insert that fits into a square hole in the “frame” rails. It keeps the nursert from twisting/turning when you want to flatten it with the install tool, and later keeps it steady when you want to remove and reinstall your skid plates. I would pay a little extra and go for Mopar here.

I’m seeing them for about $4-6 per nutzert on the Mopar Parts websites.

I went by there and they quoted me $6 a piece. Thatís why I was asking the recommendation. I looked on amazon for half hex riv nut and found m10x21 for $12. I wonder if theyíre the same thing. If so they are 30 for the price of 2. Iíll probably order from Jeep just to be sure but itís just a lot for a riv nut if itís the same thing. $.40 vs $6.00.
