Random Smoke

Hi there!!!

Today for the second time, in the entire time of me owning this Liberty, happened again...

At a stop sign ( A/C OFF, Temp NORMAL, no C.E.L., etc. ), some white odorless smoke came from under the hood from the right side, close to the firewall/fender...

Moved one block to park and open the hood to check everything ( visually ), and everything was OK, no electric smell, coolant at proper level, no signs of overheat, then I turned A/C on and it was cooling perfect ( in case of a gas leak, but none )...

What could this be? Has this happened to anybody else?

2008 with 151208 miles on it....

Regards,

Was it cold and from the exhaust from a car in front of you. It's 25 degrees here and that happened to me once. Then I realized it was the car in front of me. The exhaust blew under my vehicle and looked like it came from my hood at first.

hello there!!

No, it wasn't cold, at that point I already drove the car for aprox. 5 miles in a down town rush hour, ( always takes some 22 minutes to complete the drive from home to my office )...., and no car in front of me at the moment of the smoke coming out...

I read a thread somewhere about Wranglers having random grille or hood "smoke". Usually caused by moisture burning off hot parts. Apparently it's not to uncommon.

Google Jeep hood white smoke or something of that order. A bunch of links will come up.

Well, today happened for the 3rd. time, smoke kinda comes out of the front RH wheel, and as described before, from the right side of the hood, today I even jumped out of the car pop the hood, but couldn't see any possible source of this smoke...... Nothing smells like overheat, electric, hot brakes, etc....

Crazy Jeep and it's temper...

I actually saw something similar a few days ago. It was in the 20's and foggy and I was at a stop sign. It was gone when I was at work. I think it was only moisture. Looked the same color as exhaust on a cold day. Lots of moisture was in the air.
