Locking/unlocking issue

I’m having trouble with my power door locks on my 2012 Jeep Liberty

Sometimes when unlocking/locking at both the driver side or passenger side nothing happens (it sounds like it’s working) other times it locks when I click unlock, while other times it works perfectly.

Any idea on how I can fix this?

Also- not sure if this could be related but a few months back it started unlocking itself. I removed the battery from the key fob & just started manually unlocking/locking
A pain but this stopped the unlocking on its own
(tried replacing fob battery beforehand as well but it still was unlocking on its own)

Car battery was replaced a few months back

Are you having problems with the fob or the door switches? It sounds like the fob. Have you had any problems using the door switches? It's good that you replaced the fob battery right away, low voltage can cause all sorts of strange problems. Does it act up when the fob is nowhere near the vehicle? Trying to figure out if the problem is related to the Jeep or the fob.

I usually start troubleshooting the easy stuff first. Try wiggling any suspected intermittent switches. Don't push the switch but try to give it a wiggle with gentle pressure. This will often reveal an intermittent or sticking switch. If it doesn't activate by wiggling and takes a good solid press to activate the switch then it is probably fine. If it is working intermittently it may be able to be cleaned, how to clean depends on what type switch it is. If it's beyond cleaning then it needs to be replaced.
