Bluetooth Mod for OEM Stereo

Hi Jeepers,

I just added Bluetooth to my 2008 RES stereo. It now functions using the AUX setting, but there is no exterior cord.

Details are over on LOST: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB...p?f=45&t=90173

I was motivated to try this because new stereos are so expensive. This mod cost me $17.

Enjoy!

Glad to know it helps someone! It was a fun inexpensive mod.

A note on expectations: The device I installed mimics plugging a cord into the aux input, which is about as simple playback as it gets. You won’t be able to control your Bluetooth music from the radio buttons or from the steering wheel, except for the volume. You’ll need to select and play songs directly from your phone. But since my phone lives on that shelf above the radio anyway for running Waze, it is always right there and it’s easy to manage audio.

Talked to her about it, and she is quite excited.

Thanks again - neat idea to add BT audio.
