2012 KK Liberty

Well, like so many other people, I thought my Mode Door actuator was broken. Went to autozone, picked up a Dorman brand, replaced it... aaaaaaaaaaaaaand still doesn't work. I tried moving the door with the actuator off, I could not tell the difference. When I put the actuator on I moved the dial, I can see the gear moving, but the flow is permanently stuck in defrost mode... with a tiny bit (barely noticeable) coming out of the front vent and nothing out of the floor. It isn't even very strong coming out of the defrost... I can hear the blower on full blast and there IS a lot of air going.... somewhere. I have a second 2012 Liberty and for comparison, I turned that blower up full blast, I can DEFINITELY feel the air... and hear the internal stuff switch modes. However, the air pressure still isn't all that great in that one either, but it definitely works.
My 2004 Liberty had much better air flow.

I've replaced the cabin air filters on BOTH 2012 Jeep Liberty's (2 in each), while they were dirty (in each Liberty), I didn't really notice a vast difference in air flow.

Aaaaaaaaaannnnnndddd here’s the fix. It’s not easy but it is fixable with some patience and a warm garage to work in.
