2008 Jeep Liberty - sky slider issues

Folks

I've googled, read everything I could, youtubed, watched videos.

My sky slider issue is this:
  • The slider will no longer slide to the back.
  • It will, however, slide forward and I can re-close.

I'm not a mechanic but tempted to try to fix myself. Maybe?

Questions on my mind:
  • The J22 / M6 fuses - since the slider will roll up forward, does that mean the fuses are fine? Or should I still replace them?
  • Slider motors - might I have a blown front slider motor?
  • Module - should I consider trying to replace the module?
  • Module - I've read there has been module software updates. Do I have to take to a mechanic for this? Expensive? Worth the effort?

I bought this Jeep used. The sky slider looks in great condition - like new?

It worked fine for about a year then just stopped working (sliding to the back).

So any suggestions or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All!

KP

Just wondering if you have figured out what your problem is/was with your sky slider yet.
I just purchased a 2011 Liberty with a Sky Slider that works great now but after reading about all the problems that has happened with them, I am considering not using mine. To bad cause it is a great idea.
I hope your up and running now.
Thanks, Alan

I wonder how many Sky Slider owners don't use their "working" tops for fear they may break? I'm one, for sure.
