Jeep Information

I have a 87 Jeep Wrangler, the previous owner swapped the 4 cylinder motor to a 1989 Jeep Cherokee 6 cylinder. It has the wiring harness from the Cherokee in it. The center gauge cluster has quit working no temp, fuel, or oil pressure reading. The alternator gauge only works part of the time and the clock works fine. The lights come on inside the cluster. And I have checked the plug with a multimeter and am getting 12v constant as well as 12 ignition power to the plug. I have gone to YouTube university and checked my ground wire on the side of the engine, as well as checked the fuse in the fuse box. Still none of the gauges are giving a reading. Anyone have a suggestion on what to try next.
