The Old Man - Barn Project
|Engine:||258 cu in (4.2 L) AMC I6|
Just arrived this past June 19, The Old Man. It is called that because it came from my Pop's estate via Arkansas. It may be renamed later...not sure. Currently in the shop getting the fuel system overhauled and the Weber carb rebuilt. My Pop undid all the CA emissions previously attached, so getting it smogged will be tricky and costly (ie it currently has a 3/3 splitter header into a true dual exhaust-no catty at all). I am working on the getting upgraded brakes, a rear "big brake" disc conversion and a big brake install on the front. I am going for workhorse versus racehorse, it will be used for towing and camping, no overlanding or off-road racing. I have to emphasize that it has been sitting in an actual barn, or outside, for about 15 years, so there's a long way to go before it will be road worthy. However, once the fuel system is safe it will be a fun run around town vehicle until I get all the new hardware installed.
