Dusty and rusty barn find
I just purchased a non running 1973 CJ-5, 232, 3 speed, Kelly hardtop. The Jeep needs a lot of work but it’s definitely worth saving. It appears mostly stock minus some field expedient farm repairs and has an old Holley carb from a early 60’s Dodge. Previous owner was an elderly farmer who has owned it since 1979. Unfortunately the farmer has dementia and I bought it from a man helping them sell their equipment, so I don’t have any details on it’s past. Engine isn’t running but I’ve done some prep work to do a start up. I’m waiting on a carb rebuild kit now to arrive. Plans are to of course get it running reliable again and use it around my property.
