Thanks for the add. Trying to
Figure something out with my new to me, CJ5.
Last guy couldn’t tell me what a master cylinder was lol. Got the jeep for a decent price. Needed work. I decided to tear it apart and start a rebuild. It had a 258 head with the carb so I assumed it was all a 258. Ordered bearings and polished the crank. Went to install the new bearings and all the locator notches were off. Almost called the guy at advanced auto to cuss him out for ordering the wrong bearings but decided to check of the block. ITS A 4.0 BLOCK! It was made in 97. My question is, why would someone take a 4.0 block and put a 258 head on it?? Next question is, should I find a 4.0 head, EFI and manifold with a 5 speed and switch it over? All insights welcome.
