Wheel offsets

I have an 05 Liberty and I want to widen the track by 2". I ordered 1" spacers only to find out they aren't legal in PA. That being said, what offset do I need to accomplish the best results?

Please don't waste your money and endanger the traveling public.
How is widening the vehicle track by 2" going to improve performance or safety?
If the designers felt a 2" wider track was a benefit. It would have come from the factory that way.
Don't get suckered by all the propaganda to sell more unless crap.
Good luck.

I've beat this horse so many times I'm done talking about it. You can't lift 'em high, wider/bigger tires will rub and today the overall the cost to modify your chassis is more than the vehicle is worth. Here is a link to what I would tell you:

Thanks for posting the link. Great information. My 2004 Libby has the factory 17" wheels and the rest of the Libby is 100% stock. She's see snow over the hood in Yellowknife, NWT and mud and duck **** half way up the doors. Now she lives the city life with the odd Ottawa, Ontario snow storm. I do change out my tire by season. Winter/Ice tires from October to May and All Seasons May to October. Traction or "spacing" has never been an issue no matter were I am. I just hate to see people waste their money and in a few cases invite a unsafe situation.

I used to laugh at the maxed out 4X4 monster trucks stuck in the muck while my Libby motored on down the trail.

My wife & our Libby.

The best offroad vehicle is the one you don't care about. Go to a Gambler rally event and you'll see beat up Honda Civics doing as well as lifted Jeep Cherokee's on muddy trails. Just don't slow down. The Liberty is actually quite capable off the road in stock form.
