Sight shuddering feeling / clunk after putting Jeep in drive.

05 Jeep Liberty. 100k miles. Bought it off of friend, who had it sitting on side of road for a year and a half.

This only happens when I’m in park OR reverse, go into drive, THEN step on the gas. It feels like the Jeep jumps / stutters, and every now and then I hear a subtle clunk.

If I’m at a stop light, and it’s my turn to go, it doesn’t happen. It’s only when it go into Drive from Park / Reverse, and right when I hit the gas.

I just put nearly $5k into this vehicle to keep it running lol. I’m hoping this isn’t anything big. Any thoughts?

Hey, did you get this figured out? I’m having a very similar issue. I thought maybe rear upper control arm.

Loose U-Joints?

Only one kid in history had ever attempted what Benny was about to, and he got eaten.

Yea that’s on my list of possible culprits to investigate. I read somewhere else (jeepkj.com I think?) someone had bad transmission mounts causing similar things. So checking those along with the UCA I’ll hopefully find it.
