Project Urban Redneck gets some paint

I'm begining the process of painting my Liberty. The entire vehicle will be sprayed in bedliner, then snow camo will be painted over top of it. Here's some before shots. I will post up pictures of the progress.

07 KJ- 6 speed, 4 inch BDS/ Daystar lift, 35x12.5 m/t's, homebrew snorkel, muffler delete w/ straight pipe, way too many lights, and a loud system to drown out the JEEP noises.

Good looking Rubicon! Bold move with those big tires. When will you post the painted pictures? How dose that KJ drive with the 33"s cause I would like to upsize next time I buy tires. I have always liked Snow Camo-- go figure I live in the heat in Florida. Well it makes me feel cool anyways. Oilbuner

The 33's definitely affect gas mileage. Off road the clutch starts to over heat on any decent hill, but if i put it in 4 low and stick to 2nd and 3rd its not too bad. You will experience tire rub unless you're lifted upwards of 6 inches. I'm currently blocking everything out and taking care of some minor body work. The weather is supposed to suck friday so hopefully Saturday I can start spraying down the bedliner.

I would if I could find something lower than 4.10's. I'm waiting to get settled into my new job then I'll decide whether to to a SAS or get the JBA steel diff.

Well your about to get hit with some bad weather. It just went over us here in the Panhandle. Hope it clears for you by the weekend! Right now I running a JBA AJUST A Strut set at 2.5 and when my tires where out I will run them up to 4 and add the other necessary parts to run 285 or 33s. I am looking forward to seeing your Snow-Camo paint, I have seen this don on rifles before but never on a Jeep! There are a few trucks running some ordered stock-on realtree camo and I'm not a big fan, dont take me wrong its just to store bought looking. What your fixin to do is add a touch of class in an amazing ride.please post what you paint so I can see the show Jeep. Oilbuner

Looking forward to seeing some finished product pictures. I'm in the process of doing this same thing on my TJ and had thought about spraying it silver over the bedliner after I'm done.

Made some progress. Sanding the grill had to be done by hand and chewed up a large chunk of my day. So here's how it sits. Got the grill and fenders done with 4 coats.

Doors and hood are on the agenda for tomorrow.

Thanks Oilburner. Alot of people don't realize sanding, blocking and all the prep work takes up 90 percent of the time. Pulling the trigger is the quick/ easy part.

What bedliner are you using? Looks good and how did you do that to your hand?

Had the lid of a rolling tool box fall closed on it. I'm using rustoleum bedliner.

Next time you post a pic of the work on your rig, can you get a close up of the Rustoleum Bedliner you are using? I would like to see if their is any definition to the paint or dose it lay flat? Thanks! Oilburner
