Engine Oil Cooler - External
My engine oil cooler needs to be replace in my 2005 Liberty CRD, 2.8 and the part is discontinued by mopar, and even if I find one it's a very expensive repair. My mechanic suggested finding an external engine oil cooler instead. Anyone know where I might find one of these? thanks,
Shaun

There plenty of options out there but the Davies Craig stuff is good, and easily available at any pasta place like Supercheap Auto and Repco.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't been able to find anything in the states yet, and not sure if the Australian Co's will want to ship here, but I will give it a try.

You will need to hit eBay most likely. Worst case LKQ online or an LKQ junkyard.

Thanks, but I'm really trying to find an external engine oil cooler.

External cooler then. Get an oil filter sandwich plate and run the hoses to any oil cooler from the parts store. Measure carefully for the biggest one that will fit. You may need two smaller ones in series because the grill slots get in the way of install. Unless you want to take more of the grill apart.
Here is a decent sandwich plate. While you're at it you could add an oil temp gauge and/or oil pressure gauge.

Oh, and add like an extra half quart or so of oil.

You first mentioned that your stock engine oil cooler needed to be replaced and you didn't say why. Now it turns out that you want to "add" a external oil cooler and I'm curious as to why?
Is the engine oil getting too hot?
