06 Liberty Cruise control floors when set

Hello all, we've got an 06 Liberty, 3.7, 4WD with 240K miles, a month ago while driving down the highway, turned on cruise and hit the set button at 60 mph, the engine floored it and kept pulling! I hit the brakes and turned cruise off and on, still did it. replaced the actuator with a used one from salvage yard, still does it every time...anyone seen this or have a clue what I need to check? Love this little Jeep, but I'm a lead foot and will be in the poorhouse if I don't have cruise!

with your scanner check codes, check for a wiring issue at circuit.
A wiring diagram and DVOM will help.

Any chance airbag light is on?

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

Does it ever stop (like after gaining 5mph) or does it just keep going and going and going? This sounds stupid but it is in the KJ tech manual about lift foot setting (hitting Set button while foot is off gas pedal). Continuous doing that can mess up the cruise control and it has to have a weird reset procedure done. No BS, I've seen it on an old KJ and it would run away once Set was pressed, but stop after gaining 5mph.
