When I am in my FSJ Cherokee I will wave at other built rigs regardless of brand. usually I get a wave back.

i just bought my first jeep, a tj, over a year ago. i quickly learned about the wave and the brotherhood to go along with it. i can usually see that stock set up jeeps dont wave unless they want to feel included. i myself view the jk as just another suv even after owning my jeep and think the everyday person thinks the same. soccer moms and guys who get a four door jk in a last ditch effort to avoid a minivan...i work with two women with jks who bought them new in the past few years. theyre both stock. one lives two minutes from work. regardless, how many times did they ever have the top down or doors off? ZERO

Those days are over. Once Jeep went with power windows, power door locks and leather seats it all changed. They invited in soccer moms, yuppies and others who couldn't care less. I bet at least 90 percent of the JK's on the road today will never touch dirt.

I had a JK Unlimited Sahara and a 2 door JK Sahara. I hated mine so bad that I sold it and bought a TJ Rubicon and couldn't be happier. My wife traded hers in for a RAV4.

Maybe find the oldest "Jeep Wave" thread instead.

JK's. Tons of them. They are everywhere! Better get used to it. lol
Whether they wave or not doesn't matter to me. But lifted JK's, that are taken off road, always do.
5 years ago there was not one JK in our club. Now, there are lots.
The club's latest run consisted of 6 JKUs and one lonely CJ. Too many big scary Jeeps. I didn't go on that one.

I've only had JK's... but my bother has had his TJ for years so I've used that plenty over the years, and I think its a combo of the new type of owners that are out there that buy them as the around town/soccer mom SUV's and the fact that maybe they just don't know...

Yeah, I have a couple of built FJ's, Rover's and a K5 Blazer I wave to around town. They always wave back, JK's stiff me the most haha

I've had my JK for about 6 weeks now, and wave at every Jeep I see. Typically I get a blank stare or the other driver is on their cell phone. This week was the first time I actually had someone wave back. If you pass me, I'll wave.

I have a few JK drivers near me wave. I think its cool the ones who do. I am an old Jeep guy and I wave. If you find it silly, thats you. But dont bag on people trying to keep a tradition alive.
