RE-build startup procedure

My '85 CJ-7 (4.2) has a factory rebuilt engine in it with only about 40 K miles, but the previous owner blew a head gasket, which I fixed and had the heads/valves redone while I was at it.
Never had oil pressure worth anything even though compression was very good. So I tore it down and the bearings were the issue (not horrible, but bad enough). Replaced all the bearings and put on a high volume oil pump. Everything was put back together with assembly lube, so is there any problem with pulling the plugs and crank it over using the starter to put oil back in everywhere before actually firing it up?

Shouldn't be any problems with that, just don't overheat the starter.

A better option is to pull the distributor and spin the oil pump that way. Run the pump till you get oil on the top end and oil pressure at the gauge.

Paperwork will ruin any military force.

Just tried that and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
