Quadratech

I'm so surprised how Quadratec's ordering system is so painful.

The initial order confirmation is confusing. I just found out that one item I ordered is out of stock - but no mention of when it might be available. There was no separate email about this, just a note in my original confirm in which it listed the item instead of making it clear it wasn't available.

The follow up emails only include an order number (no mention of the items in the order). So, if you have two or more orders you have to remember the order number in order to understand which order they are referring to.

Another item I ordered I did receive an email saying it was out of stock, but again they only gave me an order number so I could't tell which item they were referring to. So I go online to find out, and over a two day period I can't access their website as it was having "problems".

Also, there is no notification that an item has been shipped, or its status.

Oh, and try and find a phone number to call about your order? Forget it. There's no number to call.

It's like you place an order and it goes into a black hole and someday you may get it and someday you may not. This is like trying to order something in the 1990's.

No more Quadratec for me. I just cancelled both my orders.

I had no problem finding phone numbers, emails and their physical location on their contacts page, both for sales and customer service.
https://www.quadratec.com/help/contact

I've also had a lot of luck in the past with their on-line live chat support.

It's too bad they didn't have what you wanted in stock, but keep in mind that all supply chains all around the world are disrupted right now. It's hard for them to tell you when they will have an item when their suppliers can't tell them. Quadratec is hardly the only company dealing with these difficulties lately. I've had nothing but good dealings with them over the years.

I second all of this.

Nothing but good experiences with Quadratec. Service has been on point. And yes, everyone is experiencing supply and shipping issues lately.

As for your out of stock stuff, it will probably show up quicker than you think. My last order had an out of stock item on it and it showed up 2 days after the rest of the stuff I ordered.

I have no idea where you looked for Quadratec contact info but the 800 number is clearly posted on their home page.

For the most part, my Quadratec experiences have been good. I have had issues at times with some of the phone people in order servicing but if you don't like how you were treated, you need to escalate it to a supervisor. I have needed to do that and they were excellent and fixed the problem.

Given the choice between Quadratec or Extreme Terrain, I'll go with Quadratec every time. XT just sucks donkey balls.

Never used them myself. I tend to always when possible order from the maker. As well i will not buy ChiCom. No matter how much it may be less cost. I have used 4wp for decades. Though back when we lived in SoCal they were rather close. No need to order and there was no internet..... I wonder what people would do today if they had to send a check, after calling a company and then have to wait at least 6 weeks. I remember ordering a Dough Nash transmission , back then there was nothing on earth like it... was like 2k, send a check and wait............6 months. was worth the wait too.

I agree with the lack of info about the order. And what they have "in stock" is not always correct which you may find out in an email after you order. But I do believe they have a way for you to cancel an order if the item turns out to not be in stock. And they say they don't charge you for items that aren't in stock. I've been mostly happy with Quadratec. Especially the low minimum order for Free Shipping of $50. However, I think other retailers are better and I try to order from Morris4x4 or 4wp etc... Like yourself, I do like to be able to track every detail of my order which you can do elsewhere.

Well, I didn't have problems with them. For several years now, I have been buying everything from them for the car, even ordering for my friends. Recently, I ordered a Kenwood KDC-168 USD stereo receiver and household protective cases for a portable refrigerator. Everything was delivered and there was a connection with the seller.

Quadratech (sic)

I read this hread with some interest as I just this week went through an order/order cancellation with XT. Needing a pair of JKU Rubicon front sway bar end links I jumped on the internet highway only to arrive at XT. OK, I've done business with them before and been satisfied. Perused the offerings and made a choice. Order placed on-line with no problems. Couple of hours later I receive notice that order shipment may be delayed by XT's ability to ship due to Covid-19, but they will send a notice when shipped. One week to the day I pick up the phone to find out why my ordered parts are actually backordered, only to learn that there is no arrival date from the manufacturer. Short story, this should have been revealed online and I cancelled the order.

Minutes after hanging up I'm on Quadratec's website, the same parts are offered, in-stock confirmation is visible online and order placed. Same day, a shipped confirmation arrives via email, next morning I have a delivery date. Parts are due by EOD this Friday. Now that's the way to do business on-line. YMMV

Ordering from these companies is an art. Like your children... they can be so different.

I’ve ordered a lot from Quadratec and you have to shop what is in stock. Often, what is on sale is oddly back ordered. Look for that green colored in stock.

My worst experience is 4WP (four wheel parts?). Worst experience ever. Promised myself I’ll pay an extra fifteen bucks not to deal with them.

To end on a positive note, like quadratec, I have had good experience with Morris4x4. They’ve been good to me. Usually takes two more days to get in stock items out the door compared to Quadratec.

I agree that it can be frustrating when you place an order only to find out something is on back order. But if you go to your orders you can see all the information concerning each item. Since not everything on an order is shipped at the same time, it's a helpful feature. I've never had a hard time dealing with Quadratec, in fact find them easier to use than some other sites.

It was a shame to see 4WP go downhill when TransAmerican bought them a number of years ago. They used to be very good to Jeep clubs and we would get a pretty sizable check from them every year for being loyal customers and getting a % back that the club spent. Also had a sales group that was setup to work with clubs to get the discount. All of that went downhill and our check got cut off after members spending a bit more to order parts through them knowing that the club was getting something back. I hate to order through them now as who knows when things are getting shipped, last time I ordered some spring bushings, it took almost 2 weeks to get them. No more. Summit carries most everything that 4wp or any of the other 'Jeep' specialists have and shipping is almost instant.

I have had similar challenges with QT. Since I prefer doing things on-line, I think I am spoiled by other on-line retailers who have their back end processes squared away - emails with all info, order status updates, shipping updates, etc. I realize that Covid messes things up and I try to make allowances for it. I find it amusing when a QT package shows up at my door, but I never got any shipping notification - its a pleasant surprise.

Don't tread on me!

Actually, we still got the club rebate when Transamarica owned them. However, now Polaris owns Transamerica and that's when everything went to hell.

I still use them but I go to the store and deal with the store directly. I still get a discount in store that I'm not getting on line.
