Are there any comparison tests of the Quadratec winches yet? They look amazing on paper, Id like to know how they work in the real world.

We are in the process of doing all sorts of test videos on the winches paired with different bumpers, winch plates, and rope. Once they are all finished, we'll have the results available.

I too would like to know how the winch compares. In mud not just rocks. Im in the market for a winch and ive bought warn before. But now im limited on price range. I almost bought one from ebay but i dont trust Chinese made parts. They break too easy. Which is why they are cheap. But any reviews on your Q9,500i pulling out of mud?

Revival time: not sure when they came out, but just checking out QC website now and seeing they are now offering the winches with Synthetic line and hawse fairleads which a previous poster said these two items would nullify the cost difference between the QC and name brand. Very curious to see more on these QC winches...very close to pulling the trigger on one.

Myself as well. I'd love to hear from anyone who's owned/used a qtec winch for a while now and wouldn't mind sharing their experiences.

Thanks

Me too! I see they're offering their bumper/winch combo for $554. Offer ends on the 18th so I gotta decide FAST!

Been there for a while also.
With my business way off since 2008, just can not justify (wait for) a Warn.
Just bought a Q9500is in their 4th of July Sale..... My first winch!
62 lbs, out of the box.

I had done a survey of 50 members of my club...... Lone Star Jeeps.
Asked how often they used their winches. Over 90% responded with 4-5 times a yr.
Based on that and Quadratecs published comparisons with other brands.....
I decided to give Quadratec a try.

Installed Q9500is today!
During 'break in' rewind, I looked at my dash volt meter and it was in the red reading 9!
Got 'check gauges' light, for obvious reasons.
Shut TJ off... restarted OK.... gauge was back to middle and no further problems!
Anyone ever seen that happen or have an idea what happened??

EDIT, 8/15/2013 - Have used it three times since the above.... no furthur problems!

First off me say that I love Quadratec. I buy everything from them and the customer service is second to none. But as far as the winches go I have some real issues. In the Quadratec catalog they have a section called "Dare to compare". Of course the Quadratec winch beats out Warn, Ramsey, Superwinch, etc. Yet on their winch advisory chart, all of the Quadratec winches are listed as for occasional intended usage. What does that say for the quality of the winch? They problaby come from the same sweaty factory in China that all of the other crappy winches do. So perhaps they should hold off before comparing themselves to the big established winch companies.

So I recommend buying a proven brand name winch, from Quadratec of course.
