Need Help! Auxiliary battery: 2016 GC Overland

Hello All!!

I have a 2016 GC Overland FWD, the light indicating trouble with the Remote/ Auto Stop/Start has been on about a week. I took to Chapman Jeep in Scottsdale, AZ but they are the WORST and wanted to do all this unecessary stuff so I pulled it back.

I have a few questions:

Does anyone know a good, honest Jeep mechanic in Scottsdale or not far from ?

Where is the auxiliary batter located and can it be changed by myself and a friend who is mechanically inclined?

Thank you so much in advance for any help or guidance.

Hi Everyone,

Yesteday I purchased a new auxiliary battery and it was installed, the light did not go off. We put the old battery back in, the light did not go off. Does anyone have any ideas WHY the light will not go off, IF it goes on becaues the auxilary battery is bad?

Did you drive around after you replaced the aux battery? Just replacing it likely won't clear the light as there are systems in the car that monitor the battery as the start stop is activating and look at draw and capacity. It will likely take a few drive cycles to clear the light.
