Flat towing Grand Cherokee

I have a 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited 4X4. I would like to know if I can keep the vehicle locked while flat towing.

I don’t see why not. Double check the manual, but whether it’s locked or not shouldn’t affect anything.

Why couldn't you?

You flat tow a WK2 with the transmission in park and the transfer case in neutral. You need to push that little tiny button behind the dial selector to put the t case in neutral. Once that's done, there is no need for the fob to be in the vehicle.

I'm assuming your Limited has QTII?

You need 2 sets of keys. The steering must be unlocked so it can turn. The second set so you can get into the locked vehicle.

Thanks, Ron. I did not see anything in the Owners' Manual about unlocking the steering column. Other vehicles I have towed required putting the ignition in the ACC position although it was not necessary for my 2008 Wrangler Sahara.

I would appreciate any further advice.

Thanks,

Roger

Ah, no. At least on a 2020 WK2 (and my 17 as well). They are push button ignition. No column lock.
