Finished my Camping Trailer!

A couple weeks ago, I finished my small trailer for us to take camping. I hope to add a tent top to it when funds allow it. I think it came out nice.

Nice!

A couple friends of mine each had their own idea for trailer accommodations.

One is just a tent made for the bed of a small pickup, the other is just a frame supported tent he just put on top of a plywood trailer cover. Just having a trailer to haul tents and all your camping junk is great too. That is what we used to do before the Wife decided it was time for an RV.

Thank you.
I like that deck with just a tent on it. I will have to think that through as a temporary fix for now.

No kit. bought the parts, the steel, rims and tires....just started cutting and welding. a few mistake, but only I know they are there.
Just today, I was at the grocery today with the kids, loading up. I had the trailer with me, and had a guy come over to look at it. I think I will be starting another one in a couple weeks. He will come over to the shop in a couple days to talk about what he wants.....and he said he will give me a deposit. Wow!
I had fun doing it. Maybe I will be able to quiet my day job someday.

Looks great, nice work!

I'm not a real handy welder so I've been looking to get a small Harbor Freight trailer and doing something similar to what you did. Unfortunately mine would be all bolt together sides instead of welds. Nice job though, it came out great!

It is my experience that bolt on things tend to fail over time...and even more so when bouncing down a wash board dirt road. Just make sure you check your nuts before, during and after each use. You eould hate for things to fall apart while traveling down the road. Things do break...even welds, so please check your trailers when building them. If you have a small welder and bolt a trailer together, you could go around and tack all nuts to the bolts. Or use a hammer and punch and crush a thread on all the bolts.

I was once a tree house.
I lived in a cake.
