eBay winch

Trying to gather some opinions if I should buy this winch or not, I'm not expecting it to perform like a warn. Where I live there is a 4wd beach access and tourists are always driving out and getting stuck and are quick to pay 10-20 bucks to get unstuck before calling the tow truck that charges 200+ depending how far you are from the gate to pull them back up on top of the sand. If I can get 10 pulls out of it and make the money back I'll be happy. Just here to gather opinions if y'all think it'll be a scam or complete trash. I burned up the motor in my mile marker after making a couple hundred bucks that a friend gave me for free.

I would guess it's a misprint and they won't honor the auction. I can't seem to find it either or other car type stuff from that seller. Most of the same winches are selling for $230-$250. I really don't think it's possible for even the Chinese to ship a real, fully functional winch for $35 with free shipping.

If you are willing to throw away $35, go for it, you may actually get one and it may work, but most likely, you won't ever see that winch or your $35 ever again or you will see the winch and it won't work out of the box.

Ok, just found the auction. My guess is the 1200lb HAND winch is $33.95. Showing the 12V winch as out of stock.

Is there a way to contact a seller on eBay? I've never dealt with eBay.

There is. Depending on what you are asking, you can use ask a question at the bottom of the ad, or if you wish to ask/discuss something privately, you click on his user name and then hit the contact icon.

I'd consider time spent looking at a $33 electric winch to be time wasted.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

Don't disagree with you Jerry.

Seeing as it's really not a $33 winch but probably a $250 winch, the discussion changes only a bit. It's still a cheap Chinese winch, on par with Harbor Freight. For a throw away winch, I would just go to HF and get one there. At least, if it fails out of the box, he can get another one.

Better off looking on craigslist for used winches.

Since I'm on college kid budget I think I'll wait on a good sale at harbor freight and buy the 2 year warranty, if it still works after two years I'll just take it back and say it quit and get a fresh one.

Hopefully by then you will have completed a course in personal ethics.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one bothered by that. You just put it better than I would have, Jerry.

Looks like harbor freight badlands winch. It may only be worth 33 bucks!
