Double shear track bar?

What is the advantage of a double shear track bar? I know I dont really need one for a 3 inch lift, but I do want to replace the track bar and its not that much more.

A double-sheer mount has two support points, one on both sides of the joint, so it is stronger. A single sheer is supported on just one side. That said, typical track bar mounts are single-shear at the top and double-sheer at the bottom... probably just because it's not easy to go double-sheer at the top.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

whats it going on?? XJ? TJ? JK?

what brand?

some mounts advertised as double shear aren't exactly the smartest designs and introduce more problems than their worth.

IMHO, if you're going to go double shear front track bar mount on a TJ, you need to hack that cast POS off and fabricate something better. XJ's got it a bit easier from the replacement standpoint with the bolt on mount design. JK's are already double shear
