1987 Jeep YJ 258 S&K MOTOR done after 3400 miles

I have a 1987 YJ with a shot 258, need a rebuilt long block.
If I did not have a Howell fuel injection kit in it I would just move to another engine.
since I have a ton of $$ into the fuel injection and headers I would prefer to rebuilt the or replace the motor.

does anyone have any suggestions for a 258 motor in Vancouver Wa? or a shop that could do the work?

My other thought is to purchase a 2000-2006 Jeep TJ and just put in my axles, trussed and build dana 30 ARB and 4:56, and a ford 8.8 trussed with and ARB and 4:56 gears.

1987 YJ with the 258 fuel injection/headers, AX 15 with the centerforce 2 kit, 231 with a CV tom woods shaft f/r, spring over with rubicon express 2 inch springs, full cage and custom aluminum dash.

any suggestions? ugh

What do you mean by "shot"? What's the issue? There may be some alternatives depending.

What is the budget ?

You do know that the YJ axles will not just bolt onto a TJ ?

How about converting to a sightly newer 4.0L, either used with low mileage, or rebuilt ?
