Rocker Panel Question

Iím installing new rocker panels on a Cherokee XJ. I canít figure out why there is such a large gap (see picture). I understand that the outer rocker panel will fill in some of the gap, but the outer rocker panel is .005 inch thick and the gap is .030 inch. I donít get it. Does anybody know why this doesnít look right? Thanks!

I am assuming the new rockers are aftermarket made so there are slight differences from oem.

Yeah, they are after market rocker panels. I guess I'll just weld the inner on and set the outer rocker panel in place and see how it looks. Maybe you just have to squeeze everything together, but it would take a little force.
