Ready for paint / basecoat

The jeep is ready for paint, final wet sand is now done, just waiting for a cooler day with lower humidity & no love bugs

Everything has been cleared now - shot with three coats of high solids. Wet sanding has begun starting on the hood as you can see

You do know people are going to know that's not factory paint. Factory paint never looked that good.

Is that still the patriot blue color?

No is not Patriot Blue. I wanted to kick it up just a tiny bit. This has a tad more metallic in it and a bit brighter overall. My paint guy was trying a little bit to discourage me from changing, but when he started with the door jams- he told me that he thought it was a super color-- and thats before the clear .

You never said wether you liked the new color-- or are you waiting to see the final results?

i don't dislike the color, it looks lighter than original, and more depth.

And yes, post pics of final results. May be too much glare though.

I am for the most part an"originalist" - like to keep things mostly stock. This paint MAY be a tad lighter- but it really pops.
Will post photos when I get it back

Got the Jeep back home this past week. Spent a few days re-polishing, since my paint & body guy only uses a rotary and he left holograms and buffer trails. So I broke out the compounds & polishes and top it off with the best paint protection available. Still have a tad more to do but its about 98% done on the exterior and 40% on the interior ( as far as cleaning)
Here you go----compliments AND criticisms welcome!!!!!
