Door mirrors

Hey I have a 03 tj and I’m wanting to remove the whole mirror assembly from the doors. I can get almost all the screws that hold them on but one is not coming out. Is there a nut behind the door panel or something like that. Any help or pictures would help. Thanks

I expect there is a captive nut inside the door, but I was able to remove the mirrors my '05 recently without any issue.

It's likely rusted. Spray it with some penetrating oil and allow a few days for it to creep in and loosen up the screw threads. If you have rust issues, try Kroil.

To my knowledge, there might be a captive nut inside the door. Spray some penetrating oil so that the screw will loosen up.
