1982 Silver Eagle CJ7 Decals??

Guys,

I've had alot of trouble finding a Silver Eagle. I've seen very few. And it's almost like they don't exist. I have found several with decals on them that look like the golden eagle but are silver. Ebay even sells the decal. My decals are totally different from those. I'm wondering if anyone remembers this jeep and if these decals are original or if they were put on by another owner? Please Help if you can. I'm wanting to repaint it and put new decals on it.

Jeep made a "Golden Eagle", "Golden Hawk" and a "Silver Anniversary", but never a "Silver Eagle". Those decals were added by an aftermarket striper.
You should be able to take the pics you have to a decent automotive vinyl/wrap outfit and they should be able to replicate them.

So all the ones on the web are just made up. The decals are prefabricated for no reason?

No, some third party companies made those decals. Not just one set, they sold them all over the country to hundreds (if not thousands) of individuals and dealers. There are bound to still be some vehicles with these decals on them. And as you can obviously see, those pictured above are different than yours. More than one company made similar aftermarket products.

They prefabricate this type of kit because people like to customize their vehicles and aftermarket decal kits are a good way to do that.
