Product Information

MSRP: $500.00
Average Price: $124.89
Manufacturer: Flowmaster
Yes: 109 / No: 2

Flowmaster series 40 muffler, This is the most “aggressive” sounding street/strip muffler that Flowmaster offers. If you're looking for attention, this one will get you noticed. The standard 40 series has an “aggressive rumble" and will generally resonate inside the vehicle around 1800-2000 rpm’s, and again at 2400-2600 rpm’s. Constructed of 16 gauge aluminized steel and fully mig-welded for maximum durability

Pros: Sounds awesome cheaper than a magnaflow
Cons: none so far

Comments: Sounds awesome I'm running it with no CAT so it might be louder than most. Has a nice tone and volume you can hear it when I get on it.

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Flows terrible worst exhaust to have for power gains

Comments: This is one of the worst exhaust to have on an LS Motor due to restrictions in the mufflers they do have a great sound but not worth it in the end

Price: $130.00
Pros: Sounds a lot better.
Cons: None.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I don't know the actual price of the exhaust. The guy at the muffler shop took of my cat, welded my lines shut that go to the pulse air system, and put my exhaust on for just $130. My Jeep sounds a lot better especially since it completely broke in. It sounds like it's suppose to. It doesn't sound "modern" like a new Jeep, but it sounds like an older Jeep.

Price: $50.00
Pros: sounds great on the 4.0l
Cons: should have gotten the super 44
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Sounds good but since the original 40 series isnt produced in the correct inlet and outlet location for a jeep, it has to be put on at an angle. I should have just gotten the super44 since it comes in the correct inlet and outlet location.

Price: $1.00
Pros: It sounds good with a slow, steady acceleration.
Cons: Real annoying for stop and go driving. The sound cruising at 30mph is also annoying.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The system was installed on the jeep when I bought it. To be honest, if it weren't for the seeming performance boost, I would remove it. It's kind of annoying.

Price: $30.00
Pros: Got it used cheap from another Jeeper, great sound
Cons: Little bit of rattling from a loose baffle
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Sounds great, even on my little 2.5l. Got it used from another Jeeper off this website, and I really couldn't be happier. Muffler cost me $30 w/ shipping, then $18 to have it put on, can't beat that. Cost me $48 with shipping and installation when a lot of websites charge ~$100 just for the muffler itself. If you can find a used one at a good price, go for it. When I finally get a bigger engine in my baby I'm going to go and buy a brand new one, same model.
