Yeah I think your right that would be sweet for the rat rod.... this was kind of an experiment but turned out ok. I'm using it to make a sign for my Dad to hang in his man cave.

I'm using LED puck lights from home depot for the headlights will post pic when it's done.

So this happened.

decided to build me a trailer big enough to haul stuff.....
And you guys know me $$$haha. Only spent $32 on it so far that was just for the suspension equalizers. I got enough left over metal to finish the whole thing. Im building it 7 ft wide 20ft long, it will have a 3 ft dove tail and 2x8 wood deck. It will have my old winch up front for tugging broke cars up... I'll probably spend more money on title and registration than I will building the whole thing. Once the bias ply tires wear down I'm going to swap it to 8 lug hubs since the axles are 7k dexters. Other than that its been my latest project for the jeep to tug it around and haul all the junk cars and trucks I buy to part out along with my dirt bikes and 4 wheelers.....

Been a little busy with my business I started so not much love for the jeep but honestly it really doesn't need anything other than preventive maintenance..... So sonetime in the near future I'm serously considering making corner armor now as part of my fab business just not sure of the demand for it. I'll build a set for my jeep and see how it goes but since I got to build a press to make mine may do a couple to offset the cost to build the press. And of course it was such a nice day building the trailer I had to take the jeep doorless into town for a cold beverage. On the way back the crosswind was so strong when I went to take a sip of my drink the wind blew it straight up my nose.

is that one leaf spring for both axles? is that enough? how does it mount? what you going to do for brakes? just weeee bit longer and you could fit two jeeps  lol

have you put any thought into gooseneck? are there trailer inspections where you are at to get it titled?

. It's actually got 3 leafs in each pack these are dexter 7k trailer house axles probably overkill in the spring department. I built it with a double eye shackle setup, they work together going over bumps and uneven ground... in this pic you can see the equalizer in the middle and the shackles connected..its on uneven ground right now and helps keep trailer level.

Both axles have brakes and will be getting used The reason for 20 ft long is so I can haul my jeep plus a side by side if I choose to do so.
No gooseneck for this half ton truck, plus my dad has a 20ft gooseneck I can borrow anytime I want. I will have plenty tongue weight loaded right, I've hauled 12k with this truck off my hitch without a problem, of course I've got a brake controller... No inspections per say her in MT any idiot can build something and drive it down the road. Just got to have the local county sheriff come out and verify it has a vin on it which you create then fill out a form and about $150 registration fee. Title fee is like 5 bucks.
The old GMC will be getting the motor swapped into it soon some guy is selling me a crate 350 out of a k5 blazer, well he called the other day and said he ain't got time to pull the motor so just come get the whole blazer for free. Score!!! So I'm finishing it up this weekend so I can haul the blazer home with it.
