And after a quick install, the rig is now ready to wheel.

You're not ready to wheel yet.....that drag link needs a fresh coat of paint.

Just got back from vacation and caught up on your progress. Excellent, as always.

I'd be lying if I said I did not think about that...

Thanks Connor.

I'm heading out to JV this weekend, If you start driving now you should make it in time for Saturday wheeling.

Good plan, except I'd have to replace my tires twice along the way... Enjoy JV - I do plan to get out there one day. Actually not too far from my sister who lives in SoCal.

That one is a 1" tap. I also have left and right hand 1.25" taps for my johnny joints - those things are big.

Those types of tools are always a good investment, I've got the 1-1/4 RH and LH for the links and the 7/8 RH and LH for the steering. I use weld in bungs, but after welding I always like to run the tap through to get rid of any distortion from welding. I've never tapped the actual tubing though, maybe someday.

I had hoped to be posting some wheelin' pictures at this time. All week the weather has been saying that today was going to be sunny and in the 60's, and I was planning a quick shake-down trip with my daughter down to Wolly's Offroad south of Nashville - but, we woke up this morning to a bit of rain. Tomorrow looks nice, so we will try again then.

So with the change in plans, I knocked out another small project. Now that the heavy lifting is done on the rig, it's nice to knock out a small thing start to finish in a short time. I originally had a guard for the radiator installed, but it hung down far enough to interfere with the new location of the pitman arm. There was plenty of room to move it up to clear the pitman, I just needed to modify the brackets.

It was a simple matter of cutting off and relocating the bracket which attaches to the grill body mount, and the side bracket which bolt's to the frame.

A little bit of paint, and then I reinstalled the bracket and double checked the clearance with the pitman. Done and done.

I've seen those, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone hit the bottom of the rad, not a bad idea though.

I was able to get in a little wheelin' today with my Daughter. I hit the RTI ramp first thing for one final clearance check with the springs in - all looked good.

It was a little wet and muddy, but otherwise a good first day out shake down run.
