Thanks! Me too. Today and tomorrow I have to install a new engine harness and my detroit locker in the front. Wednesday is just to finish up anything that's left and Thursday I'm driving it 5 hours to Rausch Creek in PA to go wheeling for a couple days. Between the drive down and a few days of wheeling, it should be a good break in to see how the new setup performs.

So while I was waiting for my friends dad to show up yesterday to help with the sensor, I knocked out a couple small things that needed to get done before the trip. For one, I found out I had installed my new shocks upside down. I assumed the shaft needed to go up and the body down, but I found out that was not correct. While I was flipping them I measured to find out how close I had gotten on picking the correct length. This picture is full droop on the leafs. I had 3/4Ē of shock travel left.

And this is approximately ride height. Realistically it will settle another inch or two once there is weight in the back. The Jeep was completely empty and Iíll be traveling with tools and spare parts in the back.

Next I worked on putting my plastics back together in the back of the Jeep and getting the rear seat back into position. And finally I cut off the old lower shock mounts. No longer anything hanging below the axle. I was always dragging these brackets on the rocks so Iím looking forward to having them gone.

Planning to drive the Jeep to work today just to make sure nothing else is acting up. Itís good to have it back in good tuning condition.

I also did figure out the issue with the sensor. He was able to confirm that the sensor itself was functioning and that the wiring was working properly, which is what I had tested for prior to him getting there. What we determined that I couldn't though was that the signal coming out of the sensor was not changing with the sensor. He determined that another sensor was back feeding the circuit and causing the issue. Upon a little more investigation we figured out that it was the clock spring causing the issues. It had gotten wet after the Jeep got rolled and sat outside with no windshield and because of that went bad. We unplugged the clock spring and the Jeep is running perfect again. Drove it 50 miles to work today and it back to it's normal self. Cooling system is completely sorted and the running issues are fixed. Almost ready for Rausch in 2 days.

Installed the Detroit after work today. Just under 3 hours start to finish. Tested it out and it seems to be working as intended. So Jeep is now officially locked front and rear.

Ran down to the scale quick before I loaded the Jeep for Rausch. Iíve always wondered what this Jeep weighed with all the extra steel welded to the frame.

Picture dump from the weekend. Drove the Jeep down, aired down, wheeled for 2 days, aired up, and drove 300 miles home. Never turned a wrench. We all had an absolute blast and laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Doesnít get any better than this.

Wasnít planning to work on the Jeep today but when I opened the trunk to put my spare shafts in there, I found the ambition to build a spare tire carrier. No more ratchet straps needed. And itís way more secure. When I tighten the center bolt, it squeezes the tire against the bar and makes it super solid.

Here’s some footage from my trip to Rausch a couple weeks ago. One of the guys has a YouTube channel and put a short video together. It was the break in run for his Jeep, the Black TJ on 40’s.
