If been watching also. I like the way it's turning out. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well glad to hear that people are actually paying attention. When I go a month with a bunch of photos and progress and no one says anything, it makes me wonder.

So got the Jeep ready to drive last night, tidying up a few more little things that needed to be done before it could be driven like vent and vacuum lines, transfer case shifter, speed sensor, seats, topping off fluids. Got hung up on the immobilizer. I have 3 keys for this Jeep, all different cuts, which all turn on the Jeep, but none of them satisfy the SKIM system. I believe I have figured out how to get rid of the system but won't know until I get home from work tonight and can verify. The Jeep is otherwise ready to drive. It's always the little things....

So got home and swapped out the computer and pulled the immobilizer out of the Jeep, it runs and drives great! Been driving it on and off and doing some finishing stuff to it. So far no complaints. Just turn the key and go, itís great!

How are you liking the WJ steering and Brakes? Are you still running your stock pitman arm?

That XJ is looking strong dude!

Stock pitman arm, steering is awesome! Feels super tight and just all around really good. Tires arenít balanced, no steering stabilizer, alignment just done by eye, and it drives straight as an arrow. Itís awesome.

Little Red XJ

85 miles on the Jeep as of this morning. Only thing that has come up is a loose jam nut on the tie rod. Noticed it on my walk-around while filling up with gas this morning. Can't wait to try it out in the woods for the next three days! I'm sure the trail time will point out any issues that are going to come up.

That is a sweet Jeep. I like how you stiffened the whole chassis. It should work well offroad!

I'm running a waggy arm. The more seat time you get you may notice a little loss in your turning, I did, but I'm in a YJ too.

The steering is night and day difference IMO, braking is better, but not night and day like the steering.

Glad your happy with it!

My steering is limited by my long arms anyway, so not going to effect me at all. The angles are good, so I'll keep the stock arm. I think I probably still have a little air in my lines still for the brakes. I ran all new lines and bled them pretty quick. My gf was running the pedal and she was half asleep haha. I'll be able to really test the brakes after I switch out my proportioning valve. I run disk rear also so the brakes should be pretty good.

Thanks! I'm hoping to keep the flex in the suspension, not the body. Also hoping to keep this Jeep more long term since it's so clean, hence why I worked so hard to preserve what was here.

So I drove the Jeep to southern VT this weekend and wheeled it the last two days, drive home this morning. It survived! And it actually did really well. Did some exploring Friday, led a group of 13 Jeeps all day on Saturday, and unfortunately had to head out early this morning to deal with some stuff at home, but the Jeep did great in everything I threw at it. Thereís a list of things to button up and fine tune, but I couldnít be much happier with the way it performed.
