I was initially, which was beyond infuriating. But I advanced the timing a little and it came down a few degrees, then I pulled the shroud and ac condenser Friday night at camp and never boiled over after that!

Stayed 195-215 the entire time until I started either really working it up the hills and then immediately sat at idle afterward to wait for other people. So the belt driven fan is coming off, Taurus fan is going back on and it should be golden.

I did lose my overdrive in the trans before I took it to Cali so I need to figure that part out too.

Good to hear.

I wish I could have seen your face though when it initially started overheating

You don’t need 4 fans. I’ll help you with any extras you want to get rid of! 😉

Worked out most of the kinks and Iím running it this weekend on a supposably gnarly trail to shakeíer down good and hard! I still donít have overdrive, but other than that itís been great!

I put in new spark plug wires, recut the rear wells, then painted the sliders black. I hate the black, and Iíll be redoing them back to brown eventually.

I also reorganized my cargo area to fit my toolbox and gas can better together. Using a yeti soft cooler behind my seats for the beverages.

I was having a no fuel issue, then a no start issue, but found a broken wire at the TPS, and loose 12v ign feed to the computer.

The 700r4 lost overdrive after the head swap. I think itís a stuck governor, but havenít pulled it yet to find out. Right now itís like driving a 3spd th350 but with 5.38s and no OD, doing 60 gets pretty loud

Just realized I didnít post about my fan debacle. I tried a Taurus fan w/shroud, then remounted the Volvo fan with my mount, and neither options worked. So after a few days of searching I found a derale low profile 2 speed high output fan that had good output and 1Ē thinner than the Volvo fan.

I cut more from the shroud and modified it to hold the derale fan.

Itís not as powerful as the Volvo setup, but itís been keeping the motor right where it needs to be so Iím good with that!

Volvo fan mounted to the shroud next to the derale fan.

I have about 1/2Ē or so of clearance which is enough

I kind of like the black.... nice work finding the wiring issue!

The fan/motor clearance looks pretty similar to my setup. I have a dual flexalite fans, not sure how it will cool things but hoping it’s enough.

Ahh loose power wire at the PCM? That would explain some things.

So after all of the screwing around with the cooling system, what finally solved your overheating issue? Fresh heads and redoing your e-fan?

Good luck on the run buddy. Post some pics!
