Finished my spring and shackle swap first thing today, and it's sitting around 1-1.5" lower in the rear so I may either get some longer shackles that will help clear the rear bumper during flex, or add a leaf from my RE pack to help with a little lift and add a little more stiffness.

Downside, I didn't seem to get the stretch stretch I was looking for. I triple checked my measurements from perch and shackle bolts so I'm not sure. My shackle angle in the rear is much better tho!

Then after a 100* after noon, I took a break and went back at it in the evening. Then after about an hours worth of stripping a flex plate bolt, then a parts store run for those extractor things, stripping that stupid tool, then just grinding the bolt head off and all the other fun stuff that involves removing a stripped bolt I finally got it off the engine.

I figured while I was in there, I dropped the exhaust and began replacing the oil pan gasket. Man it's a mess on the back of the engine, so I did about 4 rounds of degreasing and scrubbing, and then hit it with a shot of black paint. As the paint dries over night, tomorrow is 100% reassembly

Got a bunch of time in today but it didn't go as smoothly as I liked. Got the oil pan cleaned up and repainted, got the new gasket installed, exhaust is bolted all back up, new flexplate installed with locktite And torqued to 60ft/lb.

Next was the torque converter... I could not get that thing seated in the trans to save my life.

Looking at the stock one I pulled out, everything looks the same so I fought and fought and fought with it for a couple hours. By this time is was like 6pm and it's been over 100* outside all weekend, so I decided to step away from it, and attack it again later this week.

Decided to mount the tcase on the trans before install. Hindsight... it's actually much more difficult to install together than separate...

Got everything installed and did a little forward and reverse in the garage to move all the fluids through the trans and found this trans is leaking again!

Figured out quickly where it was leaking... between the trans extension housing and tcase..

Pulled the tcase and resized I had forgotten the gasket between the two. I used the RightStuff RTV And got it all together. I'm letting it cure over night and will check out the new trans tomorrow.

New to me springs sitting hella low in the rear. Debating on rebastard packing the springs, or adding more lift to the rear shackles. They may need it anyway because I'm not sure they're going to clear the bumper

Thankfully I found my spare yoke in the garage and going to hit Napa in the morning to get the driveshaft back together. I'm going to swap back in my RE springs until I eventually go linked and tons.

Alright, let's get caught up a little bit. Been working like crazy almost everyday for the past month but I tried to get my steering adjusted and figured out I must have warped the tube adapter bung when we were welding my steering. Broke my old breaker bar trying to get the drag link closer to the knuckle.

And rather than ordering a new adapter, I'm going to try to cut the weld, shorten the draglink, and weld it back in. I don't want to throw much more money at the axles because I want to go tons soon.

Finally ordered a TCI lockup controller kit for the trans, so I'm going to do the reseal, lockup, and gauge hopefully this weekend if I don't have to work.

Also got me a new set of rock sliders coming. Went with a Barnes set because of price and they go wheel well to wheel well. I'll have to trim my corner armor to allow the full rocker width.

Next goodie for the jeep is going to be one of these bad boys. Both are Chinese knockoffs, but also have great reviews. I've always wanted the trucklites, but I'm leaning toward the projector ones.
