Finally bought more jeep parts. Just got an Undercover Fab ultra high clearance aluminum transfer case skid, hopefully get that put on today and get rid of my stock beat up skid and gain some clearance.

Installed the Undercover Fab tummy tuck yesterday, and it went smoother than I could have thought. I put on the ultra high clearance skid, used the stock trans mount and the stock shifter linkage for the Transfercase. I didn't touch the linkage at all, never loosened it and never adjusted it and it still shifts fine, I have plenty of clearance around the skid and nothing rubs it. All I had to do was bolt the skid on and adjust my rear upper control arms about an inch longer to correct the pinion angle, no need for the novak shift cable and no need for the low-pro trans mount.

Thanks to UCF for the quality product!

Going to the Flats Offroad Park in Marion NC for the weekend, leaving tonight and I'm so freaking STOKED!! should be some of the toughest wheeling I've done in my jeep and I'm so ready for it. Went to the junk yard and have 2 spare sets of front shafts with hubs for me and my brother's cherokee. Snap on electric impacts and swivel head short impact sockets make hub/shaft swaps so quick. We've got it down to where we could probably swap out a shaft in 10, hardest part on the trail will be jacking up the jeep enough to lift the tire!

I'll probably destroy the last little bit of paint left on my sliders and possibly my fenders so after this trip its time for a partial jeep tear down. Need to finally decide on what front fenders I'm going to order, buy them and paint them and my sliders at the same time.
Also decided its time for new tires, so i'll be selling the KM2's after this trip and ordering 5 new MTR Kevlar's!

Had a lot of fun at the Flats off road park yesterday and today. Ran all of the trails we could, definitely the best wheeling in NC and most challenging trails I've ever done in my jeep. I beat the heck out of it and it just kept on taking it. I hit every skid under my jeep multiple times, drug the frame rails, bashed the gas tank skid and my bumpers. I didn't break anything all weekend but I did learn I need a high clearance gas tank skid and need an engine/ transmission skid. I found a few fresh scratch marks and rock dust on my transmission bellhousing but luckily no gauging or cracks from it so better to protect it before I damage it. My new UCF Aluminum tcase skid took a lot of beating and it doesn't even show! It has light scratches but not gauged, bent or dented. That thing can take a beating and is awesome, I think I will for sure be going to them for the engine skid when I'm ready for it.

My brothers beater xj did awesome, only broke one dana 30 short shaft the first night but had it swapped out quick after buying some new hub bolts. Oh and we jumped it...a lot! This pic is from the 6th attempt!
The Flats Off road park is definitely my new favorite place to wheel, I pushed my jeep further than ever before and was very pleased with it's performance, only having to pull cable once at the very top of a hard trail called either twist up or twist it.

Finally making some changes to the TJ. It basically hasn't changed at all in a year, but just ordered all new brakes including Black magic pads, new hubs and a set of Carbon Offroad front chromoly axle shafts. I'm also having a friend that is an aluminum fabricator build me a set of front aluminum tube fenders similar in style to the Genright no flare fenders, and I think I'll be building a set of Aluminum rockers, and probably have him add a tube to it also. Plan to replace the steel rock sliders on my Jeep now to make it lighter.

Also went wheeling again at the Flats in Marion NC last weekend. Picked up a 2dr 2001 xj as a beater for myself and wheeled that instead of my tj. It was a blast! I beat that xj as hard as I could and had the most fun ever and it keeps on going! I'll post up pics when I upload them off my phone.

Well it's been a while since I updated this, not a ton has changed except fenders. Didn't end up getting aluminum fenders but bought some CCFabs negative flares fenders, a used set of Smittybuilt rear flares and had both painted to match the jeep. At the same time I had my sliders sand blasted and re-sprayed them too.
Unfortunately I can't figure out how to share pics while posting from my phone on here so I'll have to post them later.

Edit- finally got it to cooperate. A few pics below.

Very jealous of your jeeps.. They are all so cool looking. I think I'm gonna buy another 2 door.. my dad had one for awhile, and I don't have kids or anything..so why bother with 4 doors!?

So I decided I'm going to Moab for EJS 2018!
Just took and passed the PE exam and I'm finally a licensed engineer and I promised myself my reward was to go to EJS 2018, or I'm buying a Ford Raptor out west and driving it home. Obviously I chose Moab, and it's a little cheaper haha.
So, now it's time to Prep for moab, first step is figuring out living situation. My brother and I will be going together so we are considering a 2 car enclosed trailer with sleeping amenities to avoid crazy hotel pricea, and be self sufficient!
Will update as we move forward, just stoked to finally be planning a trip to Moab!

Update on Moab.
AirBNB booked, got an RV already setup at a campground that rents them ready to go, best deal for 4 guys and still have room and full kitchen etc. Its got a fire pit, grille and patio to hangout outside the RV so it works out a lot better than a Hotel.

Taking my TJ and my Brother got a 07JK rubi-clone on 37's last year and is done messing with beater XJs!
I also decided to upgrade the TJ before the trip somewhat. Ordered a handful of new parts.
Bilstien 5100s, Artec HD front axle LCA mounts, Clayton rear lower shock relocation brackets, Teraflex 2-low kit
some LED fog lights, LED rock lights, 3 piece bikini top, half doors with uppers, and just mounted my 35" Pitbull rockers.
I have some work to do before we go but it will be worth it!
Also picked up a new trailer for the trip, we got a 34' enclosed trailer that just barely fits our jeeps, I have to have no top/bikini top to fit and my brothers jK has to run stock tires and air down to fit but it works! pics to follow!

Here's pics of my jeep on the pitbulls and the JK my brother got. It's got rubi front axle, elockers, 5.13 gears, RCV shafts, ten factory rear shafts, and he put the 37" pitbulls on it from the Trump sale.

Bottom pic is when we picked up the new trailer for the trip to Moab. Going to be a fun trip, with a whole lot of driving! 2200 Miles from our house to Moab, we're expecting close to 40Hours of driving to get there!

So I leave in 2 days for Moab!pretty stoked about this trip! In prep I decided to do some mods to the jeep I've wanted for a whole. I outboarded my rear shocks, relocated my rear spring perches, replaced all the shocks with bilstein 5100s, and i installed a tera 2Low kit. Little things i did include some new led fog and windshield lights, wired up some rock lights, picked up a set of half doors and a 3 piece top... I think that's about it. Jeep is looking a little different but I'm loving it!
Oh and last week I went and bought a 1948 CJ2a project!

Stupid sideways pics, I can't correct on my phone so here's the proper picture. Also forgot to mention I replaced my RC joints with Johnny joints in the rear, put in Savvy aluminum upper rear control arms, replaced front axle LCA mounts with ARTEC HD mounts. Oh and obviously I installed my pitbulls!
Hopefully all my bases are covered and I don't have much to worry about in Moab with new brackets and new front Chromo shafts last year!

So Moab was awesome! Definitely going back for Easter Jeep safari again that's for sure! The trails out there are nothing like the east coast and it was an amazing trip! I want to post a ton of pictures but it's so annoying to do on here from my phone so I'll update with some later on when I'm bored and canot devote the time to it! Here's some teasers though... BTW that's mine laid over 😅

Haven't done much to the jeep since Moab last year. Prepping now to go again in April. I am swapping the transfercase for a rubicon case though and look forward to that 4:1 lowrange... I also may have a line on an 8.8 with elocker and rubicon front with 5.13s and bold in to a tj so I may have those before EJS top but not sure I want to go that low gearing on 35s.
