Got some more work done on the XJ this weekend.

This is pretty nerve racking to do

modified the breather to clear the truss

Got the truss set up and tacked on, I know I need about an inch longer bump stop. Otherwise the top of the truss is going to go through the oil pan. Time to figure out where the upper link bracket needs to go, and how long I need the arms to be

Started some mock up for the upper arm, using pvc for mock up so I dont accidentally cut my arms to short

before I messaged the floor, the upper link is very tight between the floor and the drive line

Arms are cut and welded, now putting the track bar together

3.5" Progressive Metalcloak springs, with how tall the truss is I'm guessing roughly 6" of lift. Apparently the rear will need more lift to match.

setting up the track bar

lots of bump stops to keep the upper link from smashing the floor

Threw the front tires on it just to see where its sitting, waiting on the pitman arm to hook the steering up. Front coils are dual rate metalcloak 3.5" springs. Overall this should only be 6.5" of lift over stock.

Well my bastard pack didnt work out like I had hoped, now looking at ordering some 4.5/5.5" RE springs

Not sure I will be keeping these beadlocks very long. Thing thing is wide!

Almost got everything painted, and I repacked my rear leafs again with some old RC springs from my YJ.

Almost finished with the front axle, all I am waiting for are the limiting straps. I may end up converting the 3 link into a radius arm, the driveline smashes the 3 link upper bracket when stuffed on the drivers side and droops out the passenger side. I had to build a 1" transfer case drop just to give enough clearance along with grinding the bracket.

changed to a drop pitman arm, and lowered the track bar to make lateral movement less dramatic

Made extended rear bump stops

also finished the rear brake lines

my dad picked up a new to him wheeling rig, he bought it from a friend. May or may not become a donor rig for a MJ

also got a bunch of 1.75" tube to start a cage

Do everything you can to get the 3 link to clear. Radius arms bind pretty badly when articulating on a rig with a lot of flex.

Nice work. That is a whole lot of tube - canít wait to see what you do with the cage.

I'm in complete agreement. I've had a few radius armed rigs, I specifically was trying to avoid radius arms. However only after I got this basically done I was told the kit was never tested with a AX15, however I don't think thats the issue. I think it has more to do with how far the SD60 pumpkin is offset to the drivers side. The way I have it setup now I'm limiting down travel and up travel, which will work for now. My next idea is the make the front drive line out of 1.5" tube vs 2" tube obviously thicker tube. That would probably make enough room. If I had to do this build over again I would make everything myself vs buying a semi complete kit.

I got a deal of century on the tube otherwise I wouldn't have picked up near that much. Going for a hybrid cage. I have enough tube I can afford to make a few mistakes now.

Would moving the axle side link mount left or right help?

I wish but its actually hitting the bracket. Everything about the 3 link being on the drivers side is very tight, if I move the axle bracket further out it comes really close to crushing the hydraulic line for my clutch and also close to the brake lines. If I could find someone local to bend 2" .250 wall tube I would just move the upper arm to the passenger side.

Only has an issue when the passenger side droops out and the drivers side is on the bump stop, I currently clear by a paper thin margin.

Changed out the single diaphragm brake booster and master cylinder out for a dual diaphragm booster and a 99 Dodge Durango master cylinder

trimmed the front fenders some so I could turn the tires without smashing the fender

started installing the header panel and installed new LED trucklite headlights that are awesome

also moved it around the yard and happy to say it finally moves!

Trimmed/Cut and folded up the fenders and started building the front DIY bumper, also bedlined the rear OR-Fab rear bumper. My Daughter was born on March 7th at 2:01PM so my updates will probably slow down. Like they weren't slow enough lol
