91 YJ Truck Build

EDIT this is the current state of the jeep: 5.3L, SOA on RE 1.5" springs, Scrambler cab, metal cloak all the way 37s

Bought this 91 YJ in November 2011 for 3600$. It was rusted, and the SOA was scary, but the interior and hardtop were really nice. I quickly sold the hard top for 1000$ and tore it apart to rebuild it.

Rust

Along the way i did 19lb 4 pin injects, Tarus E-fan, 4.0 throttle body,136amp alternator, and brown dog motor mounts

Interior is really clean. It was only nice part on the jeep when i bought it, however the bedliner inside i did

Original wheels

Bought a dirtworx tire carrier and got it powder coated.

JK Rubicon wheels

Fell in love with the scrambler top and drove 300 miles with it tied to the top of the daily driver. It came with the factory bulk head

Found a early CJ7 roll bar for the back

And that is how it currently sits. It is now running and driving for the first time in over a year. It is not register, inspected, or insured yet but i have been driving it around the neighborhood and gotten it up to 60mph with no vibes or issues. Well except the front tires will rub the leaf springs at full lock but that is not surprising.

And the pictures are over the last 2 years and are roughly in order but not exactly. I am now invested in this jeep about 5,000$ total counting the initial purchase and subtracting the sale of the hard top and sale of the wheels/tires.

Many hours were spent on jeepforum and craigslist while building this jeep. Thanks for all the help YJ tech section!

The next modifications on my list are to build a roll cage inside the cab, and tie it to the frame. Then get it registered, inspected, and insured so i can really drive it and break it in.
