2018 JK build- GOBI

Our 4th JK is a 2018 JK Sport S in GOBI ordered on August 9th, 2017 and delivered on October 20th, 2017 with the Power Convenience Group, Connectivity Group, Auto Trans, Hard Top and LEDs.

This Jeep will serve as my wife’s DD and our overlanding vehicle. Since many sanctioned rides have a maximum 37” tire rule, this build is focused on achieving a strong, yet good driving build for 37s.

Parts should be here in the next week or so, then I'll need a little time for powder coat on the wheels and fenders.

This build will be done in workshops for RED DIRT JEEPS Tulsa group so members can see what goes into modifying a Jeep and what functions each part has. I’ll post videos and pics of each workshop.

Here's a pic before we get started on mods:

Parts are rolling in, only hiccup so far is the programmer. Seems there is a change for 2018,my buddy at our local 4WP called superchips and it might be a month or two before the programmers are out.
Anyone know of a '18 programmer that's already out??

Wheels are powder coated and rockrails/bumper are added. Next up are the Poison Spyder fenders.

Waiting on a couple of more parts before we do the big installs.

So we wrapped up (mostly) our build last night. Still lots to do but the Jeep is driving.

Here's a few pics from the install:

Pulled in to my buddy's shop

The wife was the first to jump in and start stripping the Jeep

Front/rear axles are stripped

Rear Teraflex CRD60 going in

Little cutting/grinding to make clearance for the Falcon shocks

Front Tera44 going in

Alpine CT3 lift

Steersmarts Tie rod, drag link and track bar

Poison Spyder fenders

Adam's drive shafts

And buttoned up (mostly)

Just ignore the pink beast on 42s, it makes every Jeep seem small LOL

That's it for now. I'll post up again as we test everything out.

Looking real nice! I love the Gobi Tan color. I wasn't real sure about the orange wheels you chose but after seeing them mounted on the Jeep, I really like them!
