2009 4.7 Commander Turbo Project

Hello, I'm new to this forum but I am starting a turbo project with my 2009 4.7 flex fuel Ltd Commander and I thought I could document it here. I will also try and video some of the process and results along the way. I'm going with a budget setup and using a cheap gt45 that has fairly good reviews. I'm planning on mounting the turbo where the exhaust headers meet under the middle of the Jeep.

Turbo, wastegate, and intercooler are in the mail as we speak. I have my Jeep's ecu licensed under hp tuners and will be tackling the tune side of things on my own. It should be a fun winter project.

The first wave of parts for the budget turbo project have arrived and I just ordered the second wave of parts tonight.

I started working on the project today. Here is a video of me rambling about the current plan. I also plan on increasing video quality but It's just me with a lot cellphone at the moment. https://youtu.be/CuGRIWUReNM

So I'm going back to my original plan for turbo location. I am putting it where the gigantic muffler used to be which is just after the y pipe. Plenty of room and will help with lag, less piping and should be easier. I have my smaller aftermarket muffler in this pic but you can see the space available and where I ultimately cut the exhaust for the turbo to be mounted

First test fit for the turbo. A few tweaks and it's time to pick up some bolts and make it official
