Subwoofer in OEM console

So I recently sold the Tuffy II and picked up an OEM console w/ sub from a 2004 Rubi. Since I already have an after market head unit, is there anyway to wire the sub up through my subwoofer output on the head unit? Also, is the sub pre-amplified within the console or does it need an external amp?

Got ignorance? Please see below.

If possible also, can someone describe the colors of the wires running to the sub/amp. I didn't have a factory sub, so I don't know how many wires there were supposed to be. Thanks.

This is probably going to get moved, but i would imagine the sub is powered by the head unit. You would need an amplifier if that's the case

Anyone know which wires go >TO> the subwoofer to give it a signal? I guess the power wires are self explanatory.

I don't remember what color the wires are or what goes where, but I do remember it takes speaker level inputs from the front and rear so it does not fade with front or back. There is a also a ground, power, and remote turn on. 11 wires total.

The amp is built into the console in addition to housing the sub.

Maybe somebody has a wiring diagram from the FSM they can share. Also, there are some knowledgeable people over in the electronic forum. You may want to move the post.

Why? It's from the FSM, it shows exactly which color wires go where.

Not really. It shows no inputs or outputs. Again, a bad diagram, but a million thanks for hooking me up with it even though you didnt have to.

I do not know of any off-the-shelf way to go from RCAs back to speaker-level... Which is what the stock amp needs. And your' custom sub-functions on your head unit are only going to operate on the non-fading RCA outputs... So in short terms, you can make the sub work easily enough, but not using the head units' custom options for sub control.
