If you want a made-to-fit solution, you could do worse than the Thunderform enclosure.

R/T also makes an enclosure that fits Wranglers

The Thunderform/Bass Slammer enclosure is a one piece molded, uv-stabilized enclosure made specifically to fit TJ's, that hides the drivers from thieves and weather when the top is down and doesn't care if it gets rained on - you can even screw it down with the molded-in feet so it's more of a pain in the butt for potential thieves. (keep the mostly-honest thieves honest.. nothing you can do about true savages)

It's not cheap for the same reason other good things aren't cheap.

I understand if it's not in the budget though, that's real money.. I don't have one either - I built something like this for my Jeep http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/autotuba.html

I just made my own ported box and herculined it and put an 12" alpine type r swr1223D subwoofer in it, might be a little more than what you are asking for but it sounds amazing. Great website for general car audio is crutchfield.com, they have those subs there half off for about $100-120 which is around their used price on ebay. Have the sub hooked up to a hifonics 600w monoblock amp. Theres alot of design that goes into ported boxes, especially strangely shaped enclosures like mine that fits behind the rear seat in a TJ. Volume and port sizes are all calculated and need to be done properly, sealed enclosures are straightforward and just use the recommended box size for your sub. Ported definately sounds better in a soft top though. Ported is louder low bass and sealed is clearer high bass, in general.

You can get a 8" powered sub that will fit inside the center console for around 150. Someone else here just did a write up on it.

I love my Memphis 10"s. Check out my profile for pics. Also running memphis amp and wouldn't change a thing. Did upgrade to 2 x 10"s instead of 1 as I had originally.

Rich G. 2005 Wrangler 4.0 6-Speed.
