Stereo Hum

Installed a stereo, 4 channel marine amp, and 4 marine speakers, two in dash, two in rollbar pods. Works fine when engine is off. When engine is running, terrible hum/whine from all 4 speakers. Everything is grounded well, splices are soldered and taped, tried the magnets that clip over the wires but didn’t help. I’m going to try some noise filters that go inline from the stereo to the amp. If those don’t work, what should I try next?

Make sure the antenna cable is well isolated and not touching any wires carrying power.

Get a ground loop isolator.

What kind of rca are you using? Hopefully a decent twisted pair one. Are your power wires close to or run along side the rca? They should not be. Are you using a common ground? You should be. If everything is routed and grounded good, you should not have to use any filters or ground loop isolators. It can be frustrating, but with a little work you will get it. DIYMA is a great forum with guys that have been at it a long time, along with many professionals, if you need more in depth help. Good luck to you sir
