Tj Radio Station Static - Needs Wiring

Hello fellow Jeepers. I have done some troubleshooting and narrowed down my radio static issue to the cable behind the glove box. Please help me in what I need to do to replace this. See photos. If I pull the connector apart, just a little, the radio comes in nice and clear. If I push it back in tightly, I get a lot of static. Problem is, when I put it out a little bit, it doesn't stay static free for long. So I'm guessing something here needs to be replaced??? Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

Check to see if you have a 2 piece cable. Judging from your picture, I think you do. If so, Morris has it for the radio to intermediate connector. I'll bet that the antenna to intermediate section is OK.

Hi. I've checked the Morris website and can't find anything that even closely resembles the part I need. Can you help please?

I keep getting
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /catalogsearch/result/ on this server."

I've tried several different devices.

I can get to the site directly by typing www.morris4x4center.com.

Maybe I couldn't find the part before because I was on a different Morris website. Not sure what the part is called, but I'll try to search for it.

Thank you again for your help!

Interestingly enough, I had the same issue when I just tried the link.

So, go to morris4x4center.com, search for TJ antenna.

About half way down, there are the 2 pieces, the base with the cable and the cable to radio.

Part# 56008786 and 56038660AB

Now I think I'm at the point I need a mechanic. LOL So I bought the replacement connector and it didn't help at all. (Granted I bought a cheap one from Amazon.) So I put the old one back on. Now the radio reception is worse than ever. If I disconnect the connector from the antenna side, and hold it straight out (like into the cabin of the Jeep), the radio comes in perfectly. As soon as I let go of the cable, I get nothing but static again. I reconnect everything and put the glove box back on. Terrible radio reception, so I've been using my USB drive.
