Need Wiring advice

Putting a pair of 6" KC HID windshield mounted light on and I was wondering if anyone had any wiring advise. I'm not sure if I should drill through the windshield frame or wrap the wires around. This is my first build, 1981 CJ-7, I appreciate any advise.

Up high on the frame or down low?

If you choose the drill thru, use rubber grommets in the hole and then silicone the center, may consider a light bead of silicone on the grommets sealing surface for rust insurance. If your CJ has the vent grille by the windshield like my JK, wires can be routed in the seams and into the engine compartment with no drilling.
