Looking for Headunit with Bluetooth/Pandora/Android support

Hey guys I purchased a Pioneer deh-x6500bt today to replace my old H/U that didn't have BT. It advertised it had Pandora support, which it does, but it doesn't have exactly what I want so I'll be returning it tomorrow.

It gives me the ability to skip to the next track and pause through the H/U but thats all. If I want to change the station, thumbs down a track, or even view the title of the current song playing I have to pick up my phone and fumble with it which defeats the purpose of the Pandora "capability" the H/U has.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking to spend over 150 but I will if it gets me exactly what I want. I'm ok with having to use my phone to change the station if need be but minimum I want to skip tracks, pause, and view the track information all via the H/U. I also need front preamp and subwoofer preamp outputs. Thanks for any advice you guys have.

Check the Alpines, they give you a lot of features for the buck. Put one in my daughters CRV for the built in blue-tooth features and she streams Pandora from her phone as well as has the iPhone hookup too. Myself I have Pioneer Premier in the Jeep and Kenwood in the work truck. I do love the pioneer too. But all in all, I think the Alpine really did a great job. Prices are good too.

I have a Kenwood excelon x396 or something like that. It has all the pandora controls (thumbs up and thumbs down) I can't remember If it has Bluetooth though. I got it from crutchfield for $130. Came with a dash kit and wire harness

Alpine has exactly what you want. Just a little more than you want to spend. But honestly you're not going to find anything new in the box with the features you want for less than $200. The only thing I'm unsure of is if the HU will display artist and track info through BT.

I have the Jvc kdr-730 which does exactly what you wanted. Pandoro thumbs up and down and track forward with track info with Android. If you have an Iphone you are out of luck the JVC works with Blackberry too. To my knowledge Iphones require the phone to be plugged in before Pandora thumbs up down can take place regardless of radio manufacturer.

I ended up getting the kenwood x896 for 260 locally. It has a 3 line display which i really like. I found an alpine today for 199 that did everything i wanted but was a single line display and after playing with some of the higher end headunits i had to have multi line. I also found a sony at bestbuy for 129 that was comparable to the alpine. Hopefully i dont regret spending as much as i did on this kenwood. Btw that kenwood 396 doesnt have BT

Yes here in Cali. Bluetooth is absolutely a must with the cell phone laws. Good luck with your choice.

trust me you will not regret buying a kenwood over a sony. The sonys BT mic is most likely built into the faceplate and sounds horrible. At least the older models did.

I'm in the same quandry in my wrangler. I have an alpine cde 123 head unit that is really setup for an iPhone to control Pandora. I use the rear usb input to run an old iPod classic that stays in the glovebox and acts as music server.

So, has anyone found a head unit with solid android support for Pandora?

Also, any suggestions for the better Bluetooth options to use in a wrangler?
